Art & Design Scholarship

Channel your inner Picasso! The Atlantic Housing Foundation is awarding an Art & Design Scholarship and encourages high school juniors, seniors and current college students to apply for this opportunity.  This eight-semester scholarship will award $1500 a semester to one creative recipient for designing the community-themed work of art for the new Atlantic Housing Foundation office, located near the Design District in Dallas.

The design theme, community, can be expressed in any art form.  The space pictured above is ready for your artwork, however, any art media types can be submitted, including, but not limited to: illustrations, pictures, models, and sketches. 

If you choose to submit a mural:

It is very important the designs are sent as CMYK as there may be a noticeable difference if it is sent RGB.
Also, designs should be sent as half scale or quarter scale with bleed. Final image sizes will be:
Full Scale: 120.5 inches x 360.5 inches
Half Scale: 60.25 inches x 180.25 inches
Quarter Scale: 30.125 inches x 90.125 inches

Photoshop Files:

.PDF, .PSD, .TIF files preferred
Saved as CMYK
300 dpi
A file at least 3400 x 2200 pixels
Photos at least 8 megapixels
Include fonts as zip files or convert to outlines (preferred)
Include all imported graphics or files
Include any Pantone colors if used

Illustrator files:

.PDF, .AI files preferred
Saved as CMYK
300 dpi
Please convert strokes to outlines as they may change when scaled

When designing in half scale zoom in to 200% to check for pixelation, quarter scale zoom to 400%

Requirements for the applicant:

The student must submit a transcript showing at least one art class taken (for verification purposes only).  The scholarship awarded will be $1500 a semester for eight semesters.  The scholarship can be applied to any field of study, vocational, or technical school (other educational pursuits will be considered).
