The Atlantic Housing Foundation and Global City Development Break Ground on a
Flagship Student Housing Project in Miami, Florida

(Dallas, Texas) The Atlantic Housing Foundation, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, recently broke
ground on a flagship student housing project located in Miami, Florida.
The project, spearheaded by Brian Pearl and Diego Procel of Global City Development, is being called a first
of its kind. This 20-floor luxury tower, located adjacent to Florida International University, will
house 1,244 students and faculty and is scheduled for occupancy in August of 2020.

The student housing project is located 300 feet from the main entrance to campus. It will include
an amenity package with state-of-the-art media centers, fitness facilities, study space on each
residential floor, retail space, a swimming pool and on-site parking.
According to Michael Nguyen, President and CEO of Atlantic Housing, this project almost
doubles Atlantic’s current student housing portfolio. This $230,000,000 project was financed
through a bond issue offered by Capital Trust Agency and underwritten by Cody Wilson of
Stifel-Nicolas.

FIU is the fourth largest University in the country. The university enrolls over 56,000 students a
year and holds an international reputation. According to Dan French, Chairman of the Atlantic
Housing Foundation, “By including the University in several aspects of this transaction, we
expand our ability to provide scholarship assistance to disadvantaged students, plus provide
direct financial benefits to the University. Affordable housing for families will remain our
primary focus, but this project emphasizes the fact that we have always believed education is the
key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Projects like this allow us to continue to help in that
regard.”
